About Rebecca
My mission is to provide compassionate and personalised therapy for mothers and their babies during the perinatal period.
Many mums face overwhelming stress, anxiety, and depression, often feeling isolated in their struggles. My goal is to create a friendly and supportive environment where mothers can openly explore their feelings and make sense of their experiences.
I am dedicated to increasing realistic expectations around motherhood while reducing the stigma associated with seeking help. Mums deserve better support and recognition of the societal pressures that contribute to their challenges. My work aims to nurture mums to embrace their journey with confidence and joy while fostering a robust and loving bond with their little one(s).
Hi there, I’m Rebecca Reidy. I’m so glad you’re here.
I have been working as a private psychologist since having my own children and wanting to find a way to use my professional skills in a flexible way. Hence the evolution of Mother Nature Psychology.
Perinatal psychology is such a wonderful and rewarding area to work within. It is a privilege to walk beside my clients during such formative and vulnerable times of their life.
I enjoy supporting maternal wellbeing and finding individualised ways to bring more joy into Mothering. As a Mother of two children I am also on this journey of bringing it all together to make the most of our one precious life.
When not at work I am likely to be operating as a mum taxi, working out how I can care better for the real Mother Nature or trying to keep active. Other current interests of mine are learning about Steiner education and perimenopause.

My Approach
My hope is for my clients to experience compassionate supportive therapy at their own pace, to move towards their own goals and develop increased self-awareness. While therapy can be challenging and feel like hard work I am not opposed to an occasional laugh during the personal exploration that occurs.
Like many therapists I draw on a range of therapies in my work. These include ‘ACT’ or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). I have also completed training in neuroprotective developmental care for supporting baby sleep, feeding concerns, bonding and maternal well-being.
My professional development is heavily focused on perinatal topics. I am also trained in EMDR and persistent pelvic pain treatment as trauma and pelvic health issues are common amongst the women I work with. I participate in regular perinatal practice supervision to support my work and ongoing training to meet the professional development requirements of AHPRA.
